Mission

Kyle’s Art for Autism World Inc is a 501c3 Charitable non-profit organization that focuses on art and sensory-focused activities for children with autism. The goal is to create an expressive outlet for children and their families in a therapeutic environment that embraces creativity, acceptance, love, and support.

Vision

Our vision is to create a platform where all children with autism spectrum disorder are given the opportunity to express themselves through creative art. The long-term goal is for us to help schools and community organizations to implement inclusivity for individuals with exceptional needs.

What is Autism?

"Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication. According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism affects an estimated 1 in 36 children in the United States today (Autism Speaks)."

Our Story

I started this organization to empower my son, who has autism, to use his artistic abilities as an expressive outlet and help others of all abilities do the same. Kyle was diagnosed with autism at the age of four. As Kyle got older, he started to recognize that he was different from other children. One day he asked me, “Mommy am I normal?” I began to cry and told him that he was perfect and that his brain processes information differently, making him unique. He asked me how we could change the world so children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) could fit in. I honestly did not have the answer, so I asked Kyle to share his thoughts and he said, “Mom since I love art we can bring children with ASD and their families together to create fun projects.

I remember when Kyle was unable to find his voice and communicating with others was a task that created frustration. When Kyle had access to art materials he would sit for hours drawing and using household materials to create unique art pieces that consisted mostly of dinosaurs but each dinosaur told a story and it was truly his unique way of expressing his feelings and emotions. I thought about all of the children with autism facing similar challenges and wanted to create an organization that is committed to providing an expressive outlet that fosters creativity, acceptance, love, and support for children of all abilities and their families.
